Conrad Kramer, Executive Director

Conrad Conrad joined the staff in June of 2008 after working in Southwest Michigan for the last nine years. He brings extensive experience as a nonprofit CEO specializing in organizational transitions, strategic planning, and development. He has spent most of his career managing social service organizations but he has also worked as a professional advocate for sustainable land-use planning and founded a nonprofit organization which reforested private lands. He earned a BS Degree in Public Affairs concentrating in Environmental Policy and Public Administration from Indiana University.

He is working to increase the pace of the land trust’s land protection success in the Upper Snake River Watershed through focusing on development, capacity building, organizational management, and strategic initiatives.

Conrad was raised in Latin America and the forests and mountains of New Hampshire. His family’s favorite pastimes include backpacking, biking, skiing, and writing.

 

Babette Thorpe, Land Protection Director

BabeteBabette joined the team in January 2004. She has a degree in literature from Mary Washington College and for the past nine years, she worked for the Piedmont Environmental Council, a land trust that has helped place more than 175,000 acres under easement in Virginia. She also has planning experience, having worked four years for a county planning and zoning department, done post graduate work in planning at the University of Virginia, and served on the planning commission for a small Virginia town.

Babette is a key contact and organizer for land protection projects. Babette also develops focus area plans for land protection, including development of acquisition funding, conservation planning, and implementation. Babette interacts with landowners to help them meet their conservation goals.

 

Matthew Lucia, Land Protection Specialist

MattMatt is an Idaho native and grew up in Preston. He spent summers working on the family cattle ranch in central Utah that helped him develop his love of the land and committment to conservation and stewardship. He graduated from Utah State University in 1997 with a degree in Environmental Science and Fisheries & Wildlife Management. Prior to joining the Land Trust Staff, Matt worked for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game as a Technical Service Provider to the USDA for Farm Bill Contracting. His career and research interests focus on landscape conservation and restoration with a particular interest in riparian corridors and upland bird habitats. Matt enjoys fly-fishing, bird hunting, rafting, mountaineering, snowboarding, and riding his mule.

As a principal staff member, Matt is the primary landowner contact in the Henry’s Fork Watershed for research and development of conservation easements and other agreements. He administers acquisition grants and is responsible for the implementation of land protection strategies.

 

Rob Cavallaro, Stewardship Director

RobAs director of our Stewardship Program, Rob oversees resource studies and documentation, and substantive monitoring of protected properties. Rob applies his expertise as a biologist to develop and administer habitat improvement and restoration programs for protected properties.

Rob joined the staff in mid 2003, and contributes extensive wildlife ecology experience. Rob has worked in the Rocky Mountain West for more than 15 years with such organizations as Science Applications International Corp., Colorado State Forest, Southwest Environmental Consultants, and as a contract biologist. He has a degree in Forestry and Wildlife from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

 

Bonnie Self, Director of Operations

BonnieBonnie Self joined Teton Regional Land Trust in August 2005 as the Director of Operations.  Her responsibilities include administering grants, overseeing the fiscal operations and assisting in fundraising responsibilities.

Bonnie moved to Teton Valley to work for Friends of the Teton River as the Finance and Development Director after completing her Master of Public Administration at Cornell University. Prior to graduate school, Bonnie resided in Gunnison County, Colorado where she worked as a non-profit fundraiser, administrator and outreach director for several local conservation groups. Before settling in the non-profit sector, Bonnie received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with honors from Washington University and worked as an accountant for a large Certified Public Accountant firm.

Bonnie continues Teton Regional Land Trust’s strong fiscal accountability to its donors and grantors.  Bonnie resides in Teton County with her husband, Douglas Self and their daughter Zoella.  In her free time, she enjoys the local hiking and biking trails and powder mornings.

 

Christine Leusch, Development Director

ChrisitineChristine is in charge of TRLT's fundraising efforts, an essential aspect of the sustainability of our conservation programs. She works closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to cultivate our membership and donor program. Christine coordinates our grant writing, and manages our event schedule. Christine also works with land protection staff to develop easement funding programs.

Christine has a BID degree in Industrial Design from Syracuse University and 18 years experience in fundraising, working for health organizations, a history museum,and a private school.

 

Tamara Sperber, Assistant Stewardship Director

TamaraAs TRLT's Stewardship Assistant Director, Tamara stewards conservation easements and TRLT owned properties, oversees restoration projects and monitors ecological resources.

Tamara received her B.S. in Ecology from Idaho State University and her M.S. in Land Rehabilitation from Montana State University. She has over 5 years of habitat restoration experience, including planning, managing, and monitoring large-scale riparian restoration projects.

 

Renee Hiebert, Stewardship/Land Protection Specialist

ReneeRenee spends her time assisting both the Land Protection and Stewardship Programs. She uses her resource skills to prepare baseline assessments, steward conservation easements and TRLT owned properties, and assist with preparation of conservation easements.

Renee received a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Kansas in 1998. She worked as an archeologist, hydrologist, range technician, naturalist and wilderness trail worker and ranger in the Teton, Wind River and Eastern Sierra mountains for six years before joining the Land Trust staff in 2004.

 

Wray Landon, Stewardship Associate

WrayWray uses his resource skills to prepare baseline assessments, steward conservation easements and TRLT owned properties, and assist with ecological resource monitoring.

Wray attended the University of Montana where he received his BA in liberal studies. Since graduating in 2001, Wray has worked in many fields from the Bureau of Land Management to a ski coach at Grand Targhee Resort. Most recently, Wray worked for Intermountain Aquatics in Driggs. Wray has lived in Teton Valley for three and a half years and enjoys what the area has to offer.

 

Angie Rudolph, GIS Specialist

AngieAngie joins us from a vast background in GIS of nearly 10 years. She uses this background to head up the GIS functions at TRLT. Working closely with the entire staff, Angie provides data management, data analysis and map production for a variety of uses within the organization. She also has taken on the TRLT website, so watch for updates.

Angie received her B.S. in Geology from the University of Nebraska in 1996 and continued her education at Idaho State University. She has done GIS work for many organizations including Joshua Tree National Park, Caribou National Forest, Idaho State University, and USGS-INEEL.

 

Emily Morrison, Outreach Coordinator

EmilyEmily joined the Teton Regional Land Trust in January of 2007 as the Outreach Coordinator. Her responsibilities include membership development, outreach, communications, volunteer coordination and event planning. Emily helps to spread the Teton Regional Land Trust message through media contact, press releases and newsletters. She also manages the recruitment of volunteers and employs their help for many projects.

Emily, a Montana native, has lived in Teton Valley for three years. She worked closely with the community during her time as a photographer and writer at the Teton Valley News. Emily earned her photography and writing degree from Montana State University in 2003. She is excited to share her experiences and extend the Teton Regional Land Trust’s message to the six counties in its service area.
