TRLT Receives Grant from Idaho Community Foundation

Thursday, 19 November 2009 09:11

The Teton Regional Land Trust has received a grant of $1,420 from the Idaho Community Foundation to assist in the creation and distribution of a comprehensive organization brochure.

The brochure will educate the community about natural resources in the Upper Snake River Watershed as well as the importance of preservation of our cultural heritage.  The brochures will be distributed in local businesses, at nonprofit and governmental agencies and mailed to citizens in the region.

The Teton Regional Land Trust is a community-based conservation organization.  The Land Trust has worked with private landowners to conserve over 26,000 acres of agricultural and natural resources that are critical to the Upper Snake River Watershed.

“The grant will make it possible for us to not only educate, but help stimulate funding to sustain important conservation work of the organization in the long term,” said Bonnie Self, Operations Director.  “The Idaho Community Foundation deserves special thanks for helping us with this.”

The Idaho Community Foundation is a statewide nonprofit organization composed of over 400 individual funds, pooled together for efficient management. Total assets are more than $55 million.  Since its inception in 1988, Idaho Community Foundation has made charitable distributions totaling more than $41 million.
