Conserve Teton Valley: Donate through the Tin Cup Challenge
Since 1990, the Teton Regional Land Trust has worked with willing landowners to conserve nearly 10,000 acres throughout Teton Valley; protecting over 25 miles of the Teton River and its tributaries from dense residential development. Today, the valley remains a haven for wildlife and the Teton River a beautiful float for families and anglers. The Teton Regional Land Trust is proud to have played a central role in protecting these resources.
Despite the success, a few gaps remain within the corridor of privately protected lands lying along the Teton River and the outlying areas. The Teton Regional Land Trust currently has an opportunity to work with a handful of families to permanently protect their working lands within these gaps. The time to act is now. When the real estate market rebounds, there will be more pressure to develop these lands in ways that could undermine the conservation values.
Teton Regional Land Trust has initiated the Conserve Teton Valley campaign to protect these properties totaling 1,728 acres over the next 3 years. Teton Regional Land Trust will be using this year’s Tin Cup Challenge funds for this campaign. With your help, we can make the most of current opportunities to protect some of these remaining lands, their tributaries and associated uplands. The map below shows the location of these properties and their connection to previously protected lands.
Please consider a donation to the Teton Regional Land Trust through the Tin Cup Challenge to help us Conserve Teton Valley. Not only will your gift help us complete these projects, it will be matched at approximately 50% by the Community Foundation of Teton Valley Match Funds.
