TRLT Receives POW Grant

TAn Evening with Craneseton Regional Land Trust was recently awarded a generous grant from Grand Targhee Resort Protect our Winters Foundation to help protect sandhill crane habitat. Teton Regional Land Trust has protected, through permanent conservation easements, properties that lie within important sandhill crane spring and fall staging areas, nesting habitats, and night-roosting sites. In order to protect priority sandhill crane habitat, Teton Regional Land Trust will use funds from the Grand Targhee Protect our Winters Foundation to continue public education, sandhill crane surveys and habitat restoration projects.

Founded by the employees of Grand Targhee Resort to improve the environmental quality of the Teton Valley, the Targhee Environmental Foundation has partnered with international non-profit, Protect Our Winters. Protect Our Winters is dedicated to mitigating climate change by uniting the winter sports community and focusing our collective efforts towards local initiatives that directly reduce environmental impacts and greenhouse gases. This year the Grand Targhee Protect our Winters Foundation awarded $5,500 in grants for environmental projects, thanks to employee contributions and matches from Grand Targhee Resort.
