Teton Regional Land Trust is proud to announce that Anne Thomas of Rexburg, Idaho is the 2013 recipient of the Michael B. Whitfield Scholarship. Anne was chosen from a talented pool of applicants to receive $1,000 toward her college education.
The Madison High School graduate has a keen interest in the outdoors and plans to major in an environmental field at BYU in Provo this fall. Anne participated in Madison High School’s Environmental Solutions program where she found a deeper admiration for conservation and stewardship of the places she loves. Anne enjoys playing the cello and piano and is an avid reader. Help us congratulate Anne for earning the Michael B. Whitfield Scholarship.
To be a candidate for the Michael B Whitfield Scholarship, students must be graduating seniors who live in the Teton Regional Land Trust service area. These counties include Bonneville, Clark, Fremont, Jefferson, Madison, Teton and parts of Bingham, Butte, Caribou, and Lemhi in Idaho and Teton County, Wyoming west of the Tetons. Candidates must also show an intention to pursue a major course of study in college or vocational school in the environmental sciences, biology, ecology, environmental planning or policy, agriculture, or a related field. Candidates must have a grade point average of at least 3 (out of 4). The 2014 application deadline is April 1.
