Spindrift: Stories of Teton Basin
Teton Basin, Idaho and Wyoming, was transformed
by the waters of an ancient sea, by the upheaval of mountains and
by the carving of glaciers. Today the landscape again faces great
change, caused this time by a flood of human beings who come to
live and play. Native Americans who first walked here stayed only
in the summers and trod lightly; homesteaders who followed plowed
fields and diverted waters; recent arrivals explore the backcountry
on skis or ATVs; developers carve the grainfields into lots.
Spindrift: Stories of Teton Basin seeks a sense
of place and community in the face of this great change by gathering
the disparate voices of those who have drifted here, past and present.
